Chemistry Conference Concludes

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Nov, 2016 ) : The 8th Chemistry Conference on "Chemistry in Engineering and Life Sciences" concluded here in Islamabad on Wednesday. The conference was arranged by Chemistry Division, Pakistan Institute of Nuclear Science and Technology (PINSTECH) in collaboration with Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Science (PIEAS) and other projects of Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC).

The three day conference was attended by more than 220 participants from all over the country including 26 universities and 48 multi-disciplinary R&D organization and institutes of the country.

On the occasion, Federal Secretary, Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST) Fazal Abbas Maken stressed the need of collaboration between research institutes and universities to apply the different ideas of research in areas of life sciences and engineering.

The participants including professors, students, research professionals and collaborators expressed their views about the proceedings of the conference during the concluding session.

The speakers and presenters gave talks on recent advances in chemical sciences and their application in engineering and life sciences.

Poster session was also conducted in which quality posters about the subject were displayed. The conference programme covered a large scope of varied Chemistry topics related to Analytical Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry, Material Chemistry, Organic & Inorganic Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Nanomaterials and Nanochemistry, Adsorption and Separation Studies, Bio Chemistry and Medicinal Chemistry.

The concluding session was attended by Prof. Dr. Anwar-ul- Hassan Gilani, Chairman Pakistan Council of Science & Technology (PCST), Dr. ShahzadAlam, Chairman PCSIR and Rector PIEAS.
