CM calls for reforming legal system to ensure speedy disposal of court cases

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Dec, 2016 ) : Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak expressing concern over slow proceedings of cases in courts has asked for putting forth recommendations to reform legal system to ensure speedy disposal of civil and criminal cases in order to provide easy and speedy justice to people.

This he said while talking to a representative delegation of Insaf Lawyers Forum here Wednesday. Provincial Secretary for Law Muhammad Arifeen, Acting Advocate General Waqar Ahmad, Additional Advocate General Syed Qaiser Ali Shah, General Secretary Insaf Lawyers Forum, Saifullah Khalil, Senior Vice President ILF, Javedullah and Press Secretary Peshawar High Court Bar Association Bilal Khan Khalil were also present on the occasion.

The delegation apprised the Chief Minister about problems faced by the lawyers community and demanded steps for their redressal. Similarly, the delegates demanded filling up the vacant posts of legal advisors.

They also demanded reduction in limit of experience required for the appointment on the post of legal advisor. The Chief Minister on this occasion ordered for submission of the list of vacant posts of legal advisors in the province.

He also directed to appoint capable law experts against the vacant posts to pursue government cases in courts in professional manner. The Chief Minister also ordered compilation of recommendations for speedy persuasion of government cases in the courts and quick vacation of stay orders against government.

Similarly, he also asked the lawyers community to put recommendations for speedy disposal of civil and criminal cases in courts to save time and money of litigants. The Chief Minister underlined the need of reformation in FIR mechanism. He asked the law experts to help the government in reforming in crime investigation system to save innocent people from arrest and litigation.
