Cold, Dry Weather To Persist: PMD

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Nov, 2016 ) : Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) Tuesday forecast mainly cold and dry weather for most parts of the country during next few days.

According to the synoptic situation, continental air is prevailing over most parts of the country. Shallow foggy conditions likely to occur in plain areas of Punjab during morning hours. The met office has earlier indicated the chances of Winter's first significant rain during the month of January.

However there are chances of light rain in some parts of the country during the period.

An official of PMD told APP that there were chances of light rain-thunderstorm in Gilgit Baltistan, Malakand and upper FATA with snowfall over the hills during the weekend.

This year, there are chances of below than average rains and snowfall as compared to the previous years, the official added. The lowest minimum temperatures recorded during the last 24 hours were Skardu -06 C, Kalat -04 C, Hunza, Gilgit -02 C, Gupis and Astore-01 C.
