Commissioner Monitors Rainwater Drainage Operations

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Jul, 2025) Commissioner Lahore Division Zaid Bin Maqsood conducted a late-night inspection across various parts of the city and adjoining tehsils following heavy and stormy rainfall.

The inspection, held between 12:30am and 3:00am, covered various locations including Gulberg, Jail Road, The Mall road, Lakshmi Chowk, Shahdara, Ferozwala, and Muridke.

The Commissioner reviewed the rainwater drainage arrangements and visited multiple emergency response camps. He was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Lahore Syed Musa Raza and Managing Director WASA Ghaffran Ahmed during the inspection.

During the tehsil visits, the respective Assistant Commissioners briefed Commissioner Zaid bin Maqsood on the ongoing dewatering operations and field-level arrangements. He expressed satisfaction over the responsiveness of the teams and emphasized the need for continuous field activity, even during the night, to clear water from low-lying and waterlogged areas.

Commissioner Lahore lauded the efforts of the district administration, WASA, and supporting agencies, noting that field teams had been operating at full capacity throughout the night to manage rainwater clearance and restore normalcy.
