Commissioner Takes Notice Of Increase Number Of Beggars

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th August, 2016) : Commissioner Rawalpindi on Thursday took serious notice of increasing number of beggars at busy chowks of the city and directed the quarters concerned to take strict action against the habitual beggars. Chairing a meeting here at his office, he expressed annoyance over the situation with regard to beggars roaming along the main roads and chowks and directed the Child Protection Bureau to hand over the genuine beggars to NGOs. He said data should be collected in this regard and according to the mandate of Child Protection Bureau such children should be handed over to their relatives and in case they were not found they should be provided educational and health facilities.
The Commissioner said the number of beggars including men, women and children were increasing rapidly which needs to be checked and remedial steps be taken.
He called for weekly report about rehabilitation of begging children for elimination of beggary.
