Crackdown on unregistered private schools across Punjab

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th May, 2026) The School education Department (SED) has decided to take strict measures to ensure the registration of private schools across the province, while instructions have been issued to take legal action and impose fines against unregistered schools.

In this regard, a special letter has been sent to all Deputy Commissioners and CEOs Education, in which complete details of registered and unregistered schools have been sought from all districts.

The department has directed to submit a complete compliance report within 7 days, while it has also been ordered to provide details of recovery made from unregistered schools.

According to the authorities, to ensure the safety of students and safety standards in educational institutions, building fitness certificate has been made mandatory for both government and private schools. All schools have been directed to obtain building fitness certificate from the C&W department.

The School Education Department has made it clear that full implementation of school safety, registration and other regulations should be ensured, otherwise strict action will be taken against violators.
