DIG For Strict Security Of Courts
HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Augst,2016) : In the wake of the terrorist attack in Quetta which targetted the legal fraternity, the Hyderabad Region police have submitted recommendations to the Sindh Home Department for beefing up security of the courts. On August 12, DIG Hyderabad Khadim Hussain Rind wrote a letter to the Sindh Home Department submitting some 17 recommendations for security of the courts, according to the police sources. "Keeping in view the prevailing law and order situation, it is recommended that these preventive measures are to be taken to ensure foolproof security arrangements," read the letter.
These included installation of the walk-through gates, scanners and CCTV cameras at the entrance of all the court buildings including Sindh High Court Hyderabad Circuit Bench, District and Session Court and others courts.
The DIG also suggested installation of walk-through gates and CCTV cameras at the entrance of the sitting areas of the judges and lawyers. He further proposed that the height of the boundary walls of the courts should be raised to 12 feet in addition to barbed wires of 2-feet diameter on the top of the walls.
The issuance of parking stickers for vehicles of the lawyers and courts' staff, building watch towers, rooftop security deployment, deploying courts' staff and representatives of lawyers at the entrance gate to identify staff and lawyers were other recommended measures. The DIG suggested that the security staff deployed on the courts should be connected with the police control rooms for immediate backup and providing wireless sets to all the security staff.
