
Diplomatic Shuttle Services Contract Awarded To Non-registered

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th july,2016) : The Sub-Committee of Public Accounts Committee (PAC) on Tuesday directed the Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) to hold an internal and external inquiry against officials who awarded the contract of Diplomatic Shuttle Services to the non-registered company with Security Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP). The meeting of the sub-committee was held at Parliament House under the chairpersonship of Shahida Akhter and examined the audit paras for fiscal year of 2002-2003. During the meeting, Director General Audit for CDA informed the committee that officials awarded the contract to that company which was not registered with SECP adding that original file of the contract also misplaced. He said that CDA told them that CDA could not find the original record of the contract so far. To this, Mian Abdul Manan , Member of the PAC observed that CDA should over come on its negligence and directed Chairman to find out file as soon as possible.
Briefing the Committee, Chairman CDA Maroof Afzal said that they have forwarded many other corruption cases to the National Accountability Bureau and Federal Investigation Agency for holding inquires. NAB official asked the Chairman to refer all corruption cases to the Bureau for making organization more efficient and corruption free. Discussing the illegal allotments of plots to the blue eyed persons, PAC expressed displeasure over CDA for not taking strict action against the involved officials despite of the passage of 14 years. The Committee also directed the CDA to take action against official who ordered to build up buildings on green belts and observed that the civic body should not violate its own regulations.
