Drug peddler sentenced to 9 years in prison in Taxila

WAH CANTT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Jul, 2025) A special court for the Control of Narcotic Substances (CNS) in Taxila has handed down a nine-year prison sentence to Muhammad Bilal, a drug peddler involved in a significant case.

According to the details, Bilal was arrested by Taxila Police in July 2024 for possessing 1.65 kilograms of hashish, a crime punishable under section 9-C of the Control of Narcotics Substance Act 1997.

The court's verdict came after careful consideration of the arguments presented by both the defense and prosecution counsels.

The judge found Bilal guilty of selling drugs, stating that the evidence on record fully connected him with the commission of the offense. The prosecution argued that Bilal was caught red-handed while smuggling contraband and did not deserve leniency due to the heinous nature of the crime.

In addition to the nine-year prison sentence, Bilal has been fined Rs 80,000.
