
Five Held For Viral Assault Video

GUJRAT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Oct, 2025) Civil Lines Police Station Gujrat, in a prompt action, arrested five suspects involved in torturing a citizen and uploading the video of the incident on social media.
According to a police spokesperson, a video showing several men assaulting a citizen had gone viral on social media.
Taking immediate notice, District Police Officer (DPO) Gujrat Rana Umar Farooq directed registration of a case and formed a special police team led by DSP City Circle Rai Sarfraz Yousaf and SHO Civil Lines Inspector Furqan Shehzad.Using modern technology and professional skills, the police team apprehended the accused identified as Sufyan, Taib, Abid Ali, Naveed Akhtar, and Asim.Further investigation is underway.
The DPO said that taking the law into one’s own hands and acts of violence against citizens would not be tolerated, adding that strict legal action would be taken against those involved.
