
Independent Group Wins SCBA Elections

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Oct, 2025) The Independent Group has won the annual elections of the Supreme Court Bar Association of Pakistan (SCBA), according to unofficial results announced on Wednesday.
As per the results, Haroon Rashid was elected President, while Zahid Aslam Awan secured victory on the Secretary’s seat, both representing the Independent Group.
Ahsan Bhoon, head of the Independent Group, congratulated the newly elected office-bearers, saying the lawyers’ community had once again shown confidence in the group’s stance for the rule of law and supremacy of the Constitution.
He vowed that their efforts would continue for resolving lawyers’ issues and strengthening institutional integrity.
Lawyers from across the country participated actively in the polling, which witnessed a strong turnout at the Supreme Court’s principal seat in Islamabad and other bar premises.
According to the preliminary results, the Independent Group maintained a clear lead, while its rival group suffered defeat on several important positions.
The official results will be announced after verification by the election committee.
