Ghana offers incentives for Pakistani investors: Ambassador

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th August, 2016) : Ambassador of Ghana to Pakistan Alhaji Bawah G. Ayembillah has said that Pakistani investors should avail incetives being offered by Ghana for them to flourish their business. Ghana offered matchless incentives to attract foreign investment where growth rate was 7.3 per cent in 2013 and presently six percent. As part of incentives, foreign investors have been offered tax exemption and free of cost land for agriculture commercial farming, he said. The Ambassador said this while talking to first-ever Mayor of Islamabad Sheikh Ansar Aziz.

Council General of Ghana in Pakistan Shahid Rasheed Butt was also present on the occasion. He informed that Ghana, a country with population of 27 million, attracted foreign investment of four billion Dollars and it enjoys 71st position in the index of economic freedom while the government was trying best to further improve the situation.

Pakistani investors who have already invested in Ghana have been enjoying good profits and they are expanding their business in Ghana because it is a stable country where democracy is working well since 1992, he said. At the occasion Shahid Rasheed Butt congratulated Sheikh Ansar Aziz on becoming the first-ever Mayor of the Capital City of Islamabad. The Mayor welcommed the delegation and expressed his gratitude for visiting his office.

And also appreciated incentives offered for Pakistani investers, he added.
