Grant Sports Festival On Aug 14

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th August, 2016) : A grant sports Festival in connection with the Independence Day celebration for Aaghosh Orphanage children under the aegis of Al-Khidmat Foundation Khyber Pakhtukhwa will be organized on August 14, here at different venues. This was stated by President Al-Khidmat Foundation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Khalid Waqas while addressing a meet the press programme of the KP Sports Writers Association here at Media Center on Friday. He said a total of 3000 orphan children in age from 4 to 11-year-old of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, who become orphan during bomb blasts, earthquake, flood and other incidents, are now in the Al-Khidmat village, will be taking part. He disclosed that there are a total of 90,000 orphan children only in Peshawar, 0.6 million in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 4.2 million in Pakistan.
He said Al-Khidmat Foundation Pakistan is trying hard to reach to all of them but due to limited resources and people donations it could not reach to these kids. He said in Aaghosh Al-Khidmat Foundation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is providing all-out facilities to these registered 3000 orphan children in the Aaghosh. He said with there is 7000 volunteers working with Al-Khidmat Foundation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and we have 73 ambulances working in 24 district of Khyber Pakhtukhwa and among these 7000 volunteers, we have professionally trained 3000 volunteers who can help out in any of the natural disastrous.
He said besides this the Foundation have 37 health centers wherein all healthcare facilities have been ensured to the general public. He said in the field education the Al-Khidmat Foundation has introduced Al-Falah Scholarship schemes wherein needed students who obtained more than 70 percent marks in any of the SSC and above class would be awarded monthly scholarship.
The Al-Khidmat is also introduced interest-free loan for the needed and skillful people so that they could be able to earn their livelihood in a respectable way. He said the Al-Khidmat Foundation is always endorsing services without discrimination to the humanity. He said now a programme for the street children has also been launched wherein the Al-Khidmat Foundation Peshawar have established three centers where street children will be educated, providing all facilities besides a stipend of Rs 200 to each and every kids, earning livelihood for their family as a street child. He after going through whole process, out of the total street children lot, we have made a selection of the promising and talented kids to the regular school and colleges.
"Now efforts being underway to have this thing to the whole of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa so that to address the problem of street children on priority basis and surprising this year among these street children more than a dozen kids have recorded A (plus) result in the SSC and Intermediate level board examination," Khalid Waqas added. He said for orphan and street children we have established a full Calendar wherein these children would be involved in sports, recreational and studying tour and other positive activities like declamation, Naat and Qirat contests. He said Al-Khidmat Foundation is only running on the people's donations and appealed to the well do people to donate more so that the foundation could continue providing all services to the need people.
