Humza, Zikria Clubs Advance In Dr. Shoukat Challenge Cup Soccer

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th August, 2016) : Humza Club of Landikotal, Khyber Agency and Zikria Club Peshawar recorded victories against their respective rivals in the ongoing Dr.

Shoukat Challenge Football Cup being played here at Tehmas Khan Football Stadium on Friday. There was capacity crowd present on this occasion which witnessed the thrill-packed matches, while veteran footballer Farzan Khan was the chief guest.

Organizing Secretary Dr. Shoukat and officials were also present. In the first match, Humza Club of Tehsil Landikotal, Khyber Agency defeated Waqar Club by 2-0 in a one-sided affair. It was the second victory of the Humza Club in the tournament.

Muhammad Imran opened the account in the 6th minute when he dispatched a long distance kick into the right cover of the goal-post. After taking lead, Humza club put in more pressure and soon succeeded in scoring another goal when center striker Inayat Ullah slammed in a beautiful goal through field attempt to make the tally 2-0.

In the second match Zikria Club defeated National Arena by 3-1 in a thrilling match. National Arena got the lead in the 11th minute through Ihtisham Shinwari and defended its lead till the end of the first session. It was the second session in which Zikria, down by a goal, come back into the game and soon leveled the tally 1-1 when Fahim netted a fine goal through field attempt.

It was in the 57th minute when Feroz and Daulat Khan scored one goal each in the 62nd and 69th minute to make the tally 3-1. Thus Zikria Club won the match by 3-1 despite conceding an early goal. Anwar Khan, Gohar Rehman, Ikran Ullah and Abid Afridi supervised the match while Zahir Shah acted as match commissioner.
