
Fourteen Candidates Submit Nomination Papers For NA-18 Haripur By-election

HARIPUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Oct, 2025) A total of 14 candidates have submitted their nomination papers for the upcoming by-election in NA-18 Haripur, announced by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) following the disqualification of former Federal minister and MNA Omar Ayub Khan.
According to details, those who filed their nomination papers with the Returning Officer include Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) central leader Pir Sabir Shah, PML-N District President Sahibzada Hamid Shah, former MNA Babar Nawaz Khan, PML-N leader Sardar Mushtaq, PPP leader Erum Fatima, Sehrnaz Ayub, wife of former federal minister Omar Ayub Khan, Muhammad Sarwar son of Muhammad Munir, Asad Usman of Khalabat, Sardar Abdul Rauf Advocate, and others.
As per the ECP schedule, nomination papers were accepted from October 15 to 17, while the list of nominated candidates will be published on October 18. The scrutiny of nomination papers is scheduled for October 22, and appeals against acceptance or rejection can be filed until October 27.
The Appellate Tribunal will decide appeals by November 3, followed by the publication of the revised list of candidates on November 4. The last date for withdrawal of candidature is November 5, while election symbols will be allotted on November 6. The polling for the NA-18 Haripur by-election will be held on November 23, 2025.
