Islam Always Protect Minorities' Rights: Abdul Khabir

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th August, 2016) : islam always stresses and protects minorities rights, Khateeb Badshahi Masjid Allama Abdul Khabir Azad said while addressing a seminar on "Minorities Day" organized by Shahbaz Bhatti Memorial Trust here on Thursday here at a local hotel. He appreciates the great sacrifices rendered by minority community members from time to time.
Khabir said that Minorities Day reminds us to reaffirm our solidarity for the betterment of humanity, prosperity and development of the country. He said that terrorists have no religion and wanted to defame Islam and create instability in the societies adding that it is the collective responsibility to fight against terrorism. "We strongly condemn all the activities of terrorism across the globe and stressed that UN should play it vital role to eliminate this menace.", he said. Former Minister In charge for National Harmony, Dr Paul Bhatti, Chairman, All Pakistan Minorities Alliance (APMA) condemned the recent brutal act of terrorist in Quetta.
He said that the government should further facilitate minorities as the vision of Quaid-e-Azam for protecting the rights of minorities. Raheel Nawaz, senior advocate of Supreme Court and General Secretary of APMA said that the democratic government stands committed to ensure equal rights for all minority communities as enshrined in the Constitution of Pakistan and UN Declaration of Human Rights.
It is our moral, religious and social obligation to strengthen the bond of brotherhood and promote the culture of tolerance in our country, he reiterated. A large number of Minorities Community, officials from the different Ministries and diplomats of several countries were also present on the occasion.
