MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Jul, 2025) Pakistan Kisan Ittehad, President Khalid Mahmood Khokhar on Sunday stressed the need
for a joint and inclusive strategy to uplift the country’s agriculture sector, which was a cornerstone
of national economy.
Addressing a press conference at Multan Press Club, he said that agriculture sector was
facing multiple challenges, but with timely focus and collective efforts, it could be steered
back towards growth and stability. He said crops like cotton, rice and mango were vital
to Pakistan’s agri-exports and improving their productivity could contribute significantly
to the country’s economic health.
He added that farmers required support in the form of
modern technology, timely expert guidance, and access to financial resources. These
facilities could reduce the burden on farmers and enhance output, he remarked.
Khokhar said that government, experts and farmer bodies would jointly work to devise
a long-term, farmers-friendly policy framework to ensure sustainable growth in the
agriculture sector.
