The campaign, launched under the visionary “Green Khyber Pakhtunkhwa” programme, seeks to address pressing environmental challenges such as climate change, deforestation, and declining green cover, while promoting sustainable practices across the region. Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Nawaz Wazir stated that climate change has significantly exacerbated issues including water scarcity, reduced soil fertility, and rising air pollution. He emphasized that tree plantation is a practical and effective step, therefore helping mitigate environmental degradation and improve public health outcomes.

He further reaffirmed the administration’s resolve to ensure the campaign’s success through all possible measures, moreover encouraging public participation.
