KP Provides Assistance Of Rs.960m To North Waziristan TDPs

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th August, 2016) : The provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has provided financial assistance of Rs.960 million to the TDPs of North Waziristan under Esar-e-Pakhtunkhwa Programme. This was told during a meeting of the KP Assembly, Standing Committee on Relief, Rehabilitation and Settlement held here in the Conference Room of the Assembly Secretariat with chairman MPA, Mohammad Ali in the chair.
Besides, MPAs Bakht Baidar, Yasin Khan Khalil, Sahibzada Sanaullah and Nasim Hayat, MPAs, Mufti Fazal Ghafoor and Mufti Said Janan attended in the capacity of the movers. Secretary Relief, Rehabilitation and Settlement and higher authorities of Law, Finance, PHE and Deputy Commissioner, Dir Upper and other concerned authorities also attended the meeting.
During the meeting, the participants discussed different affairs of the Relief, Rehabilitation and Settlement Department in detail and took some crucial decisions in this regard. The meeting while expressing dissatisfaction over the details provided by the department regarding the provision of relief and rehabilitation of the affected people of the earthquake of November 26, 2015 in the provincial assembly Constituencies PK-91, PK-92 and PK-93 and the directed the sitting and former Deputy Commissioner of Dir Upper and Assistant Commissioner (AC) Wari to present before the committee in next meeting along with complete record in this regar. The committee also expressed concern over the slow pace of work on the rehabilitation of different drinking water schemes in the provincial assembly constituency of PK-79 and directed the authorities of PHE department to present a complete report on the schemes concerned within a period of one month.
The committee also directed that in case of failure in timely completion of the projects, the concerned authorities will face action.
The members of the committee also expressed concern that some contractors after getting the contracts of development schemes sell them to other contractors and process remained continue and scheme are not completed on time. The committee directed all concerned departments for the prevention of the irregularities with immediate effect to complete work on the schemes as public expectations and hopes. In reply to the question of the Mufti Said Janan of JUI-F regarding the provision of relief goods provided to the TDPs of North Waziristan, the authorities of the Relief and Rehabilitation Department told that the provincial government had distributed financial relief of Rs.960 million to them. The committee was informed that the registration of the affectees was conducted through FATA Disaster Management Authority (FDMA) and after verification through NADRA, the amount was distributed in a transparent procedure of special ATMs cards of the United Bank Limited (UBL). The committee in this connection directed the summoning of the Director General (DG), FDMA, Political Agent, North Waziristan and five tribal elders to next meeting of the panel and presentation of record regarding the provision of financial assistance to the TDPs of North Waziristan.
