LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Jul, 2025) The government has decided to install smart water management plants to prevent polluted water in the Ravi.
WASA senior official sources told APP that waste water treatment plants have been proposed at 6 outfall locations of the city. In the first phase, work will start on the Babusab and Katar Band waste water treatment plants.
The Babu Sabu water treatment plant will cost about Rs60 billion, and the Katar Band waste water treatment plant will cost Rs23billion. Both projects will be completed with funding from foreign donor agencies.
They said that with the construction of all waste water treatment plants, Lahore's water will become completely usable. Instead of pouring sewage water into the Ravi River, it will be used for agricultural purposes.
