LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Nov, 2016 ) : Lawyers on Thursday closed all gates of sessions court here and protested registration of a case against Advocate Ramzan Sindhu and others.
However, the lawyers ended their protest after formation of a 5-member committee, headed by sessions judge Lahore in this matter. According to details, Advocate Ramzan Sindhu and others allegedly tortured ASI Muhammad Iqbal and tore his uniform who had arrived at the sessions court to present the record of a theft case, on Nov 19.
Islampura police registered a case on an application of ASI Iqbal, wherein he alleged that Sindhu had got a 'fake' case of car theft registered with the police station. The lawyers got infuriated when the cop submitted an 'adverse' report about the case before Additional District & Sessions Judge Ashfaq Ahmad.
On Thursday, lawyers closed all gates of sessions court and stopped judges and litigants from entering the courts. The lawyers also staged a protest and demanded withdrawal of the case against their colleagues.
At this, CCPO Lahore Amin Wains reached the scene and after successful negotiations between high-ups of the district judiciary and lawyers, a five-member committee was formed, which would determine the responsible in the dispute between police and the lawyers and would submit its report within seven days.
At this, the lawyers ended their strike and opened all gates of the sessions court.
