Mayor Inspects Under-construction Flyover At Korangi Crossing

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Nov, 2016 ) : Construction work of flyover on Korangi Crossing is underway and first portion of this bridge will be opened for vehicular traffic by February.

The completion of bridge would help improve traffic flow system. This was said by the Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhter while talking to media representatives on an inspection of Korangi Crossing Flyover, a statement said on Wednesday.

DMC Korangi Chairman Nayyar Raza, Municipal Commissioner Dr. Badar Jameel, D.G Technical Services Niaz Soomro, Sr. Director Municipal Services, Project Director and others were also present on this occasion.

The Mayor said the remaining work of level-II of this project will be completed after removal of electric supply lines by K-Electric. He said we want to carry out uplift works in every part of the city and making efforts to provide maximum facilities to citizens.

The Mayor said the provincial government has the master plan for Karachi and I have talked with the minister for local government Jam Khan Shoro in this connection and he too desired to see strong organization and development works in Karachi.

The minister of local government has assured full cooperation in this regard. Giving a briefing on this occasion the director general technical services said the PC-I for the construction of second level of this project which has a length of 753 meter and starts from 12 thousand road has already been sent to the provincial government whereas 90 percent work of first level was completed.

The Mayor was informed that the flyover will have 18 girders out of which 14 already installed and remaining will be installed in a month's time. Water sewage system was already provided beneath the flyover. Afterwards Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhter inspected the installation of huge girders of flyover.
