Minister Assured Full Support For Holdin A Successful National Conference

ISLAMABAD,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Augst,2016) : Minister of State for Federal Education & Professional Training Engineer Muhammad Baligh-ur-Rehman Thursday assured the Organizing Committee (OC) of Inter Board Committee of Chairman for full Technical, professional and financial support for holding a successful National Conference. He said in a meeting with convener of the OC and members here and discussed the IBCC's forthcoming National Conference on improvement of examinations system in the country, said a press release here. Besides, the convener, co-convener, adviser OC, Chairman, Secretary IBCC and members of OC/IBCC were present on the occassion. The Minister said that the outcome of the conference will also supplement and contribute towards formulation of National Education Policy by the Ministry with special reference to the examination and assessment segments.
Minister also assured the needed financial and management co- operation regarding this important conference. The Minister also shared with the OC, various components and list of chapters of the draft National Education Policy.
The Minister said that education is a matter of vital importance for rapid progress of the nation and it is ensured that all federating units are on board.
It was shared in 8th Inter Provincial Education Ministers Conference (IPEMC) that a Committee has been constituted to revamp examination system so that rot learning and cramming can be done away with and this committee has representation from all the federating units.
Minister also suggested that IBCC must evolve strong internal accountability and those boards having lose control on exams and weak systems should not be allowed to continue doing so. The Minister highlighted the importance of the IBCC being a crucial forum maintaining uniform standards at secondary and higher secondary education levels across the board.
The Minister opined that the forum shall be further strengthened through such interventions. The Minister also told the OC about the ongoing Project on "Standards" being implemented at Federal Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education (FBISE) and acknowledged the need for a better coordinated effort by evolving a proper communication strategy between FBISE and IBCC for meaningful outcomes of the project.
The Secretary IBCC informed that they have full support and cooperation of Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada, Federal Minister, Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination and Raja Muhammad Nadir Ali, Secretary IPC.
