Minister attends prayer ceremony

SIALKOT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Jul, 2025) Provincial Minister for Minority Affairs Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora attended a one-day prayer ceremony on Daska Road, Sambrial, as the chief guest.

Member Advisory Council Punjab, Sardar Jaskaran Singh, and Dr. Shahid Pervaiz also attended the gathering.

The aim of the ceremony was to promote interfaith harmony, religious tolerance, national security and unity of the minority community. Speaking on the occasion, Ramesh Singh Arora said that the land of Pakistan belongs to all Pakistanis. Every citizen living here has equal rights and the Constitution of Pakistan provides equal rights, religious freedom and protection to every citizen, he added.

He said, "Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz not only respects minorities but has also declared them the "crown of her head”, which is a clear reflection of the minority-friendly vision of the Punjab government. The religious freedom of minorities is fully protected.

Security of churches, temples, gurdwaras and other places of worship has been ensured on a priority basis. Several steps are being taken to ensure the welfare, education, employment and representation of minorities. Interfaith harmony committees are being activated at the district level so that the problems of each community can be resolved at the local level."

He said that the Punjab government is working with the minority community for complete harmony and unity in society and it is our collective duty to promote religious harmony, tolerance and brotherhood.

At the end of the ceremony, a collective prayer was also offered for national security, minority rights, religious freedom and interfaith harmony.

The ceremony was attended by Pastor Victor AB (Nigeria), Pastor Pirooz Yaqoob, Pastor Jerome Younis, Pastor Irfan Shahzad, Pastor Zeeshan Gul, as well as representatives of various churches in Sialkot and a large number of members of the Christian community.
