Minister Lauds Wafaqi Mohtasib's Performance

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th july, 2016) : Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Riaz Hussain Pirzada has lauded the performance of Wafaqi Mohtasib Secretariat in mitigating the suffering of common man and deciding their grievances in the shortest time without costing even a single penny. He was surprised when he came to know that the Wafaqi Mohtasib Secretariat has decided over 227,000 complaints during the last three years and hoped that the great work of providing free and speedy justice to common people would continue with greater pace in future. He expressed these views while addressing a meeting here at the Wafaqi Mohtasib Secretariat when he was on a visit to the Secretariat on Thursday. Riaz Pirzada was of the view that providing justice to poor and needy is the greatest Nobel cause and efforts of Salman Faruqui must be recognized as the institution of Wafaqi Mohtasib has grown manifold under his dynamic leadership. The Federal Ombudsman Salman Faruqui apprised the minister about the working mechanism of Wafaqi Mohtasib Secretariat where all the complaints were now being resolved within 15 days under the Speedy Complaints Resolution (SCR) program. He informed the minister that as per the directions of Supreme Court of Pakistan, committees on Prison Reforms and Police Stations have produced comprehensive reports after dedicated work which was also acknowledged by the Chief Justice of Pakistan.
Terming the SCR program as the most successful, Faruqui stated that under this program senior advisors visit different districts of the country and hear complaints by the people and issue directions for their solution on the spot.
He added that the program in its third phase would now cover 138 districts and 435 Tehsils so as to give maximum relief to the masses. Senior Advisor Ejaz Ahmed Qureshi and Imtiaz Inayat Elahi briefed the minister about different functions of Wafaqi Mohtasib specially the Speedy Complaint Resolution. Advisor (Law) and Grievance Commissioner for Overseas Pakistanis, Hafiz Ahsaan Ahmed Khokhar also briefed the minister about the steps taken for the overseas Pakistanis.
He said that as many as eight One Window Facilitation Desks have been established at major Pakistani airports where representatives of twelve agencies are present round-the-clock to solve overseas Pakistanis issues on the spot. Later, Federal Ombudsman Salman Faruqui presented a memento to the distinguished guest Riaz Hussain Pirzada.
