MLAs pledge to work for AJK people's welfare under PM's vision

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th july, 2016) : Newly-elected members of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly (AJK LA) on Saturday pledged to work for the welfare of the area under the leadership of Raja Farooq Haider as per the vision of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif. Talking to ptv, MLA Chaudhry Saeed said the PML-N government would try its level best to restore writ of the government in AJK and improve infrastructure of the area. He said the vision of the Prime Minister would be implemented under the leadership of Raja Farooq Haider to achieve success and provide relief to the masses. He said, "We will follow the policies of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif regarding the Kashmir issue and it will be highlighted at every national and international fora." MLA Chaudhry Shehzad Mehmood thanked the Prime Minister for showing confidence in him.

Education, health and transport facilities would be provided to the masses. Tourism industry would be promoted to generate revenue that would help to overcome unemployment from the area.

He said the AJK had a lot of natural resources, including water, tourism and minerals.

Cheap electricity could be produced through hydel projects in Kashmir, he added. He said every kind of support would be provided to Kashmiris to make their freedom movement successful. MLA Sehrish Qamar said the women in AJK were facing a number of problems and the facilities of education and health would be given to them on priority basis. She said the AJK government believed in serving the masses practically rather than giving statements.

The previous AJK government did not launch any development projects for the area. MLA Dr Mustafa Bashir said all the promises had been made with the people during election campaign that would be fulfilled to facilitate the masses. He thanked Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for awarding party tickets to new candidates.

He assured that all elected members would come up on expectations of the people. He said, "We would support Kashmiris at every fora."
