Month Long PTF Summer Coaching Camp Concluded

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th August, 2016) : A month long Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) Summer Coaching Camp held under the aegis of KP Tennis Association concluded at Peshawar Services Club with top 20 players including four female in seven different categories gone through rigorous training under qualified coaches.
Secretary Information Tahir Hassan was the chief guest on this occasion. President KP Tennis Association Dr. Tahir, Director Operation Directorate of sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tariq Mehmood, Executive Members Rahim Ullah Gandapur, Director Sports Aziz Ullah Khan, Secretary KP Tennis Association Umar Ayaz, players and officials were also present.
Speaking on this occasion, Dr. Tahir Khan disclosed that the four female tennis players including 46 probables got training under qualified coaches comprising Roman Gul, Janan Khan, Shahid Afridi, Mehmood Khan, Inam Ullah and Israr Gul in the first phase and in the second phase a total of 16 players and four female players gone under rigorous training. As desired by President PTF and senior parliamentarian Salim Saif Ullah Khan, the KP Tennis Association organized the camp in a befitting manners in different age groups and categories including Under-10, Under-12, Under-14, Under-16, Under-18, Men and Ladies categories. Tahir disclosed that currently, the position of the players hailing from KP is par excellent in various categories at national level and looking after such performance of the players SNGP, Wapda and PIA have enrolled our players on contract basis and monthly stipend. He said in U-10 Hamid Israr, Hamza Roman, U-12 Kashan Umar and Obaid Ullah, U-14 Shoaib Khan, Aqib Umar, U-16 Yousaf Khan and Yasir Khan, U-18 Barkat Ullah and Saqib Umar, and in Men singles Shahid Afridi, Ijaz Umar, Shaheen Mehmood and Abbas Khan, female players comprising Benish Khan, Usmania, Anum, Madiha are the top players in the national ranking.
He disclosed that they organized the camp. Speaking on this occasion, Secretary Information lauded the efforts being put in by the association for the tennis in KP and assured that all out efforts would be made on the part of the government. He said currently constructions of 10 courts are in progress in KP.
He also announced Rs. 10,000 for each of the players currently in the national ranking and one Tennis graphed racket. He assured that in the existing facilities more tennis courts would be developed at district level so that more talent could come up. He said that Pakistan has produced many sporting stars right from the Independence and the history of Pakistan tennis can't be completed without mentioning the name of Aqeel Khan, Aisam Ul Haq and Haq Brothers - Inamul Haq, Islamul Haq, Hameedul Haq and Ikramul Haq. If PTF is sincere in promoting the tennis then the federation contact top national coaches and get their services for tennis boost at grass-root level, he maintained.
He urged upon the federation to chalk out a play for the development of tennis under qualified coaches. He also assured that provincial information department would extend due coverage to highlight players in both print and electronic media. At ends, he gave away certificates and trophies to those excel in the camp.
