More Rains Forecast From Wednesday

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th August, 2016) : Met office forecast more monsoon rains from Wednesday at a number of places in the country. Spokesman of Met Office informed that a low pressure area persists over East Rajasthan (India) and it is likely to move slowly towards northwest direction during next 24 hours.

Under the influence of this weather system, monsoon currents are penetrating into upper and central parts of Pakistan and the intensity of monsoon currents is likely to increase gradually. An official told APP that rain/thundershowers with isolated heavy falls likely at a number of places in Punjab and Kashmir during Wednesday to Friday.

Rain/thundershowers with isolated heavy falls expected at scattered places in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, FATA and Gilgit-Baltistan during these three days. While Rain/thundershowers are also expected at isolated places in Upper Sindh (Sukkar, Larkana divisions) and NE Balochistan (Zhob, Sibbi, Naseerabad divisions) during Wednesday to Thursday. Heavy downpour may trigger flash flooding, and landslides.

The concerned authorities are advised to remain alert during the period, particularly on Wednesday and Thursday.
