NCP To Organize Workshop On 'Corrosion And Its Prevention'

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Nov, 2016 ) : The workshop on "Corrosion and its Prevention" is being held from November 28-30, here at National Institute of Vacuum Science and Technology (NINVAST), National Centre for Physics (NCP) Complex.
The three-day workshop shall enable beginners to establish a solid foundation in corrosion before moving on to advanced topics, a press release issued here on Friday said. Exercises, hands-on practical sessions and experiments throughout the course will help participants understand the basic concepts and fundamentals important to corrosion.
Dr Hafeez R. Hoorani, DG NCP will grace the opening ceremony as Chief Guest, while Ejaz Ahmad Mukhtar, Chairman KRL will chair the closing ceremony. Scientists and engineers from various educational, research and development institutions like GIK, 1ST, PINSTECH, ERFP, NDC, IICS, NINVAST, Pakistan Navy, UET, PCSIAR, SNGPL, COMSATS, UET, Lahore, UET, Taxila from Pakistan and two expatriate Pakistanis from UK and Abu Dhabi will also participate in the workshop.
The objective of the workshop is to provide an avenue to corrosion practitioners, designers, technical managers, inspection and maintenance engineers, quality control personnel and those involved in failure analysis to update their appreciation of corrosion and the awareness of emerging technologies for corrosion control and prevention.
The workshop intends to focus the concerns of public safety, damage to property and national assets so as to save billions of rupees.
