Pakistan Wants Stable, Peaceful Afghanistan: Special Assistant

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th july, 2016) : A delegation headed by Peshawar-based Afghan Consul-General Dr. Abdullah Waheed Pohan Thursday called on Special Assistant to KP CM on Transport and Mass Transit, Malik Shah Mohammad Wazir and discussed matters of mutual interest with him. The delegation was comprised of Director (Refugees) Mohammad Jalil Jalile, Director Afghan Transport, Haji Ghulam Sakhi and other concerned authorities while Additional Secretary Transport Mazhar Sajjad, Additional Secretary Home Abdul Kamal, Director Transport Manzoor Ahmad and other local authorities were also present on the occasion. Talking to the delegation, the Special Assistant to KP CM said besides having neighbouring countries, Pakistan and Afghanistan are also tied in strong bonds of religious and cultural relations. He said the establishment of an environment of confidence between both countries is pre-requisite to further strengthening of bilateral relations.
He said Pakistan have always provided assistance to Afghan brethren at every level and hosting Afghan refugees for last several decades.
During the meeting, the Afghan Consul General talked over matters relating to further enhancement of Pak-Afghan relations, strengthening of bilateral trade and promotion of transport sectors between both countries and removal of hurdles in this regard. On the occasion, the Special Assistant assured that efforts for promotion of bilateral relations in provincial subjects like transport, trade and other sectors will be made and in this connection proposals regarding the removal of hurdles on both sides will also be exchanged.
However, he said matters relating to Federal subject will be taken up with the federal government and proposals in this regard will also be presented. The Afghan Consul General said he is making efforts for further strengthening of bilateral relations between both countries and wished that the delegations of sportsmen, doctors, poets and writers should play their role, which will further strengthened bilateral relations and people to people contacts.
