LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th july, 2016) : The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has laid the foundation of an educated and child-friendly society by providing free and quality education to the needy students at their doorsteps.
This is, indeed, a giant leap towards implementation of child rights laws, which would also make these students self-confident youth. PEF Managing Director Tariq Mahmood said this while talking to a representative delegation of private school owners at his office on Friday.
He said that promotion of gratis education is a noble cause which benefits society in a number of ways.
He said that no child will be left outside the school and all out-of-school children of five to nine years will be accorded an opportunity of free education.
In this regard, the role of foundation is very important as it has sensitised the low income families to send their children to partner schools. Education also helps in poverty alleviation and empowerment of the youth, he added. Meanwhile, district coordination meeting of 620 school partners from ten different districts will be held in Rawalpindi, today.
Chairman Qamar-ul-Islam, MD Tariq Mahmood and programme directors will address the meeting.
