PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd August, 2016) : Pakistan Flour Mills Association (PFMA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Wednesday expressed strong reservations over previous and existing policy of KP for purchase of wheat and said due to wrong policy of the government the target of purchasing wheat could not be achieved. In the executive body meeting of the association held here, the Chairman Malik Iftikhar Ahmed Awan said that the department of Foods was now mulling to purchasing wheat on high rate due to increase in transport charges. He further said that the quality wheat had already sold in the market and the remaining substandard wheat to be purchased by the food department would be provided to flour mills due to which the quality of flour would also affect.
They demanded of the provincial government to stop purchase of wheat from the market and purchase quality wheat from Punjab Food department or Pakistan Agriculture Storage and Service Corporation (PASCO), warning that if purchase of the wheat is not stopped the association would ultimately stage protest. They also urged the government to revoke Federal tax from KP province as the other three provinces are exempted from the tax.
