LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Jul, 2025) Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Central Punjab President and former prime minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Sunday paid glowing tribute to the Kashmiri martyrs of July 13, 1931, stating that their sacrifices laid the foundation of the ongoing Kashmiri resistance movement.
In his statement, he said that 94 years ago, the martyrs of Kashmir began a journey of defiance against tyranny and oppression, which continues even today. “The blood of the martyrs of 1931 is the strength of the current struggle in the occupied valley,” he remarked.
He noted that despite India's attempts to turn the occupied territory into a prison, the Kashmiri people are steadfast in their demand for the right to self-determination.
“We salute all those who continue to resist Indian fascism and brutality,” he added.
Highlighting his party’s longstanding commitment to the Kashmiri cause, Ashraf said the PPP has always stood by the people of Kashmir. “From late Zulfikar Ali Bhutto to Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, and now to their third generation, the PPP has championed the Kashmiri struggle,” he asserted.
Ashraf expressed his belief that the freedom of Kashmir is inevitable and said it will come under the leadership of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
