
Court Takes Notice Of Petrol Pump Occupation Incident

SUKKUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Jul, 2025) The Additional Sessions Judge Sukkur on Monday has issued notices to relevant officials, including DIG Sukkur, SSP Sukkur, SHO B Section, Mayor Sukkur, and others, in response to a petition filed by Abdul Qayyum Qureshi, a senior leader of Pakistan Muslim League (N) and a prominent businessman in Sukkur. The petition pertains to the alleged occupation of Qureshi's petrol pump on Minara Road by unknown individuals.
The court has summoned the respondents on July 17th to respond to the allegations. Qureshi's lawyer, Senior Advocate Pir Syed Sardar Ali Shah Jillani presented the case before the court, highlighting the occupation of the petrol pump and the alleged damage caused to the property.
Qureshi, in a statement, claimed that over Rs. 4 million was present in his office during the occupation, which has not been returned. He also alleged that the municipal and other authorities had caused significant damage to his petrol pump.
The incident occurred on July 9, 2025, when SMC officials, with the help of police, took over the petrol pump and allegedly damaged the property. The PML-N leaders and workers have strongly condemned the incident, terming it a serious act of terrorism.
The party leaders have appealed to the Prime Minister, President, Chief Justice of Pakistan, and other relevant authorities to take notice of the incident and ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice.
