Precautions Against Typhoid Save Lives: Health Minister

KARACHI,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st july,2016) : An awareness and training seminar for doctors and paramedics on Typhoid vaccination and treatment were held in Civil Hospital Karachi and Services Hospital Karachi under Child Survival Programme of Sindh Health Department. MS Civil Hospital Karachi Dr.
Jamil Ahmed Siddiqui and MS Services Hospital Karachi Dr. Khalid Hussain Shaikh inaugurated Typhoid vaccination facility centres for under five years children in their respective hospitals, said a statement on Thursday.
Dr. Khalid Shaikh highlighting the importance of the seminar said that due to Typhoid fever millions of children had to suffer and many of them died due to typhoid.
So the doctors and paramedics were to aware of the symptoms and causes of Typhoid and how to treat it as well, he added.
He said that he was making allout efforts to make Services hospital Karachi, the best hospital for vaccination and treatment. Meanwhile, in a statement the Sindh Health Minister Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar has said that it is a big break through that Health Department is providing typhoid vaccine free of cost to the children. He also stressed on medical practitioners to create awareness among general masses especially in rural areas against this fatal disease because precautionary measures could save many lives.
