Provision of better facilities to consumers top priority: CEO PESCO

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Nov, 2016 ) : Chief Executive, Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO), Anwar Ul Haq Yousafzai has said that the provision of better facilities at the door steps of the consumers and improvement of the electricity distribution system is the top priority of the company.

He expressed these views during his visit to Karak and Lakki Marwat divisions where he presided over two high level meetings, which was attended by concerned XENs, Revenue Offices (ROs) and Sub-Divisional Officers (SDOs).

The Chief Executive, PESCO said that he is committed to provide maximum facilities to the consumers of the province at their door step. He said customers are our valued assets and to facilitate them is our basic responsibility.

The CEO said that improvement of distribution system and providing better facilities is our first priority and in this connection important steps have been taken. He urged for the cooperation of public by removing direct hooks and avoiding illegal use of electricity.

After removal of direct hooks maximum facilities will be provided to public including immediate replacement of distribution transformers in case of damage. He directed to avoid over billing strictly as it is the main complaint of public.

The CEO hailed the performance of Lakki Marwat Division and directed to further improve it, while the performance of Karak Division was categorized unsatisfactory and warned the concerned Officers and Officials to improve the performance within one month.

In case they fail to improve their performance strict action will be taken against them and directed the field staff to facilitate customers and if any negligence is found in redressal of public complaints strict action will be taken against the responsible officer and staff.

He also directed to activate Customer Services Centers. The meetings also discussed drive against illegal use of electricity and direct hooks and important decisions were taken in this regard. He said that those involved in power theft would not be spared, which overload power distribution system on one side and increase line losses on the other.

Similarly, Revenue collection from defaulters was discussed in detail and important directions were given to expedite the recovery. It was decided to immediately disconnect power supply to defaulters and not restore power supply until the dues are paid.
