Rescue 1122 Team Completes Int'l Training On Orange Metro

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th August, 2016) : The Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) six-member operational team has completed Emergency & Disaster Management training from United Kingdom to deal with day-to-day emergencies related to Orange Metro Line in an effective manner. The team was sent for specialised training on the directions of Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif.
The training has been organised by Hanzala Malik, former member Scottish Parliament, in continuation of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between Lahore City and Glasgow as twin cities and another MoU signed with the Strathclyde Fire Service. Dr Ahmad Raza, District Emergency Officer, Lahore, head of delegation, briefed the Director General Rescue 1122 Brig (R) Dr Arshad Zia and all headquarters team about the 10 days academic and practical simulation-based training.
He stated that the Rescue 1122 team comprising Shahid Waheed Qammer, Emergency Officer, Muhammad Azam, Rescue & Safety Officer, Naeem-ur-Rehman, Emergency Medical Technician, Amjad Khan, Fire Rescuer and Muhammad Jhangir, DERT Rescuer, has gone through field visit to Scottish Public Transport System and Scottish Ambulance Service.
Brig (R) Dr Arshad Zia congratulated all the team on successful completion of the training. He ordered for designing a comprehensive training course for earliest training of all rescuers by master trainers. The DG said the Rescue-1122 was thankful to the Punajb chief minister for providing all-out support.
