
Secretary Housing Inspects Eco-friendly Waste Water Treatment Projects

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Sep, 2026) Secretary Housing Punjab Noor-ul-Amin-Mengal Thursday visited two un-construction
waste water treatment projects to supply 63 million gallon clean water daily to
residents of the city.
A project Eastern Waste Water Treatment Plant of 33 million gallon capacity is
being completed with the support of Denmark, while another project Surface Water Treatment
Plant phase-II is being executed with the coordination of France.
The aggregate volume of both projects is 63 million gallons water and over 1.3 million populations
in various localities like Jaranwala Road, Satiana Road, Ahmed Nagar, Rachna Town, Elahiabad,
and eastern parts of the city will benefit from these projects.
These details were shared in a briefing given by the Chinese experts during the visit of
Secretary Housing Punjab Noor-ul-Amin-Mengal on the sites.
Managing Director, Water and Sanitation Agency, Saqib Raza and other officers were
present on the occasion.
On the occasion, Secretary Housing Noor-ul-Amin-Mengal directed to complete the environment-friendly
clean water projects within the given time frame, in line with the Punjab CM’s directive.
He said that providing clean drinking water to citizens is a top priority of the Punjab government, adding that these two projects would prove a game-changer for the Faisalabad city.
