QUETTA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Jul, 2025) Chaghi, Kohe-Sultan Mining Company (KMCL), with technical and financial support of Metallurgical Corporation of China (MCC), conducted a one-day technical training session aimed at enhancing the skills of Pakistani electricians working at the Siah Dik mining site in district Chaghi.
The training program was designed to boost the technical capacity of local employees through hands-on learning, one month crash-course of classroom instruction, and a sequence of skill-based assessments.
The objective was not only to prepare them for more efficient performance on site but also to broaden their prospects in the local and national job market.
Chairman KMCL, Mr. Zhang Zhijun, while addressing the participants, reiterated KMCL’s vision to invest in human development.“KMCL remains committed to empowering local employees with modern technical knowledge so they can contribute meaningfully at the mining site and beyond,” he said.
The Chinese trainers leading the session emphasized their dedication to working closely with Pakistani staff. Mr. Liu Guangyuan, one of the lead trainers, expressed confidence in the trainee’s potential. “We are here to transfer knowledge and build lasting skills — side by side with our Pakistani colleagues,” he shared.
The initiative reflects KMCL’s broader mission to uplift local communities through education, training, and practical exposure to advanced technical work.
The program is part of an ongoing series that will continue to strengthen the workforce and enhance cross-cultural collaboration between Chinese and Pakistani professionals.
The technical training was supervised online by Mr. Zhang Yongping, a Chinese expert on technical skills who currently serves Gansu Vocational & Technical College of Nonferrous Metallurgy as vice president in China. “We are resilient to transfer our technical skills to the Pakistani employees which would reflect their future and help them find more opportunities and to contribute better on Siah Dik mining site”.
By developing local talent, KMCL is laying the foundation for a more self-reliant, skilled, and empowered workforce ready to contribute to national development.
Along with the KMCL chairman, the very first series of technical trainings on Siah Dik site was also joined by Chinese high management, where both the Pakistani employees and Chinese management exchanged their thoughts reflecting cohesion and integrity which KMCL aims for.
The company has a long plan for the Pakistani employees to devote them with a more viable skillset in fitter, wielding, plumber, auto-mechanic, AC technician and riveter fields. Such technical skills transmission from Chinese experts to Pakistani employees will not just help enhance the local capacity, but also foster the environment for cultural exchange.
