
Shipping Activity At Port Qasim

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23th August, 2016) : Two ships C.V Al-Hilal and M.V Katerina carrying containers and 61,013 tonnes canola seeds were allotted berths at Qasim international Container terminal and Grain & Fertilizer Terminal respectively on Monday. Meanwhile five more ships C.V Al-Khor, C.V Maersk Columbus, M.T Dubai Eastern, M.V Golden Trader-1 and M.T Al-Salam-II carrying containers soya bean seeds, palm oil and diesel oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours. Berth occupancy remained at the port 45% on monday where a total of five berths were engaged by ships namely C.V Al-Hila, M.V Katerina, M.T PVT Eagle and M.T Sea scout to load/offload containers, soya bean seeds, chemicals, palm oil and diesel oil respectively during a last 24 hours.

stood at 88,084 tonnes, comprising 76,209 tonnes imports cargo and 11,875 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 3,004 containers (TEUs)(1,204 imports TUEs & 1,800 TUEs exports) was handled at the port. Two ships M.T Sea Scout and M.T Pacific Stream sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while two more ships C.V Al-Hilal and M.T PVT Eagle are expected to sail on same day afternoon. Five ships C.V Maersk Columbus, C.V Ak-Khor, M.T Liberty-N, M.T CT Dublin and M.T Karachi carrying containers, LPG, palm oil and furnace oil are expected to take berths at QICT, EVTl, LCT and FOTCO respectively on Tuesday.
