Shopkeepers arrested for profiteering

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th August, 2016) : The City District Government Lahore (CDGL) continued its drive against profiteering on Tuesday and arrested 110 shopkeepers from various city areas.

As many as 74 cases were registered against violators of the Price Act and CDGL teams sent 31 out of total 110 shopkeepers to prison for three days after summary trial.

The CDGL special price control magistrates conducted raids on 1114 shops in various areas of the city and inspected price of commodities.

As many as 25 shopkeepers were challaned and fine was imposed worth Rs 21,500. The district administration issued directions to the town administrators and price control magistrates to continue crackdown on profiteers.
