Sindh govt committed to develop road network in province: Imdad Pitafi

HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st September, 2016) : Sindh Minister for Works and Service Imdad Pitafi has said that the provincial government of Pakistan People's Party fully committed to develop the road network with objective to provide better communication facilities to the people of the province. The minister expressed these remarks while attending a briefing regarding performance of the Works and Service Department of Hyderabad Region after performing the groundbreaking of the new regional office here at Shahbaz Building the other day. While reviewing the performance, he asked the officers of the department to discharge their responsibilities with dedication and devotion and complete all ongoing projects in the region within stipulated time so that the people could enjoy with better communication facilities. He made it clear that strict action will be taken against those who found negligence in the duty and failed to complete the assigned task with quality work and proper utilization of the funds The minister was informed that the provincial government had allocated Rs 72.

577 billion in the annual budget for completion of 290 schemes of roads in Hyderabad Region during the year 2016-2017. It was informed that during the year 2015-16, the department had already completed 57 schemes of roads having length of 346.40 kilometers in Hyderabad Region with an amount of Rs 4196.818. Sindh Secretary Works and Services Aijaz Memon while speaking on the occasion called upon the officers of the department to change their outdated approach and discharge their responsibilities with dedication in order to improve the performance of the department. The officers and engineers should be present in their respective offices and assigned the tasks to their sub-ordinates with directives to complete all ongoing schemes in time, he added. The Chief Engineer Provincial Highways Prem Talreja and Superintending Engineer Buildings Akhtar Dawach also briefed the minister about the progress on all ongoing development schemes being carried out in Hyderabad Region.
