
Six Officers Of AJK Fisheries, Education Department Arrested

MIRPUR (AJK) , (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point news - 23th August, 2016): Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Accountability Bureau Wednesday arrested the six officials of AJK Education and Fisheries and Wild Life departments on the charges of corruption, it was officially declared. A proclamation of AJK Ehtesab Bureau issued here Wednesday said that those arrested including Director Fisheries Department Ch. Abdul Razaq and Deputy Director Sahi Zaman for unlawfully awarding a contract of fishing from Mangla dam to one Mohammad Nazir an employee of an already-defaulter contractor of fishing Raja Arshad Mahmood of Mirpur. Similarly the Ehtesab Bureau netted four officials of the AJK Education Department including District education Officers Gul Zareen Awan and Syed Mr.
Arshad Kazmi and Assistant Education Officers Liaqat Ali Awan and Waqar Ahmed for misuse of powers.
The accused were charged for making the appointments of various employees defying the set principal merit and rules. The AJK Ehtesab Bureau has already arrested the aforesaid fish contractor Raja Arshad and his Assistant Mohammad Nazir after their applications for bail were rejected by the District & Session Judge Mirpur in the case of submitting fake bank guarantees. Both the arrested officials of fisheries department have been shifted to Mirpur after the Ehtasab Bureau obtained the remand of both the accused till September 6. Similarly all the four arrested officials of the Education Department have been shifted to Muzaffarabad for further investigations.
The AJK Ehtesab Bureau has obtained the remand of all the four arrested officials till September 06.
