
Strict Measures Against Price-hike, Hoarding Ordered

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Jul, 2025) Additional Deputy Commissioner General (ADCG) Capt (retd) Tayyab Sami has directed the assistant commissioners and price control magistrates to take strict measures against price-hike and hoarding.
Chairing a meeting of the District Price Control Committee (DPCC), he reviewed the prices, availability and enforcement of official rate lists for daily use commodities across Faisalabad.
He issued clear instructions that violations of price control regulations including profiteering, hoarding and failure to display official rate lists would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
He directed all assistant commissioners and price control magistrates to conduct regular field visit, respond promptly to public complaints and submit daily reports to ensure strict compliance.
He emphasized the importance of relief for general public and said that the official price of sugar has been fixed at Rs.173 per kilogram (kg) and it must be enforced without exception in all markets.
He warned that stern action would be taken against all individuals or businessmen found involved in illegal profiteering or stockpiling.
Captain (Retired) Tayyab Sami said that Punjab government is committed to safeguard consumers’ interests by maintaining price stability and ensuring availability of essential items.
The effective market monitoring and control of prices would remain top priority to protect the public from unjustified inflation in addition to ensure fair trade practices throughout the district, he added.
