Syed Ali Raza Gilani Swears In As Minister

LAHORE, Dec 3 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 03rd Dec, 2016 ) : Punjab Governor Malik Muhammad Rafique Rajwana administered oath to Syed Ali Raza Gilani as provincial minister in a simple but impressive ceremony held here at Governor House.

According to a handout issued by Governor House, Gilani's family members, important personalities and high officials attended the oath-taking ceremony. Gilani was among the ministers, who were recently included in the Punjab cabinet, and could not join the earlier oath-taking ceremony for new ministers as he was abroad.

Syed Ali Raza Gilani belongs to Hujra Shah Muqeem area and is the son of renowned parliamentarian Syed Afzaal Ali Shah.

Gilani had also served as minister earlier. He is a seasoned and upright politician.

After administer oath to the new minister, Punjab Governor felicitated and expressed his best wishes for him. Meanwhile, several important personalities belonging to various walks of life met the Governor and expressed their sorrow and grief over the sad demise of his (Governor's) nephew and also offered Fateha for the departed soul.

Those met with the Governor included former President of Pakistan Muhammad Rafique Tarar, Federal Minister Sikandar Hayat Bosan, MNA Owais Leghari, Provincial Minister Mehar Ejaz, MPAs, IG (Prisons) Farooq Nazeer and others.
