TAG Appreciates Polio Eradication Efforts

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Nov, 2016 ) : Chairman, Technical Advisory Group (TAG) for Polio Eradication, John Mark Tuesday appreciated the efforts of the Peshawar Polio eradication team and expressed the hope that the provincial metropolis will soon be free of it.

In District Peshawar, a five-day polio campaign is starting from tomorrow (November, 23). During the campaign, more than 800,000 children will be vaccinated against polio. Chairman TAG along with his team and EOC KP members visited District Polio Control Room in DC Office Peshawar.

In this connection, Chairman, TAG John Mark along with consultant UNICEF Chris More and his team visited District Polio Control Room in Deputy Commissioner Office Peshawar.

On this occasion Deputy Commissioner Riaz Khan Mehsud, ADC Shahid Mehmood, NSTOP Officer Dr.

IkramUllah Khan and other polio staff were present. DC Peshawar briefed the TAG team regarding performance of District Peshawar in Polio Campaigns conducted since September, 2015. The Chairman TAG appreciated the efforts of Peshawar polio team and showed his full satisfaction and hoped that Peshawar will be polio free during 2016.

He also distributed awards / certificates to ADC Peshawar and other polio staff on their good performance. During the drive, 833283 children will be vaccinated against polio. For this purpose, 2420 teams have been deployed in the field.
