Terrorist Killed, Constable Martyred In Swabi Encounter

SWABI,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Augst,2016) : A police constable was martyred while a sub-inspector and two other cops were injured when an encounter took place between them and terrorists in Gadoon Amazia area here on Tuesday. DPO Swabi, Javed Iqbal told newsmen that the terrorist was also killed when police raided a house after credible information about presence of terrorists in Daud Killay in the vicinity of Utlah police station. The police when raided the house in bordering area with district Buner, terrorists opened fire on police team as a result of which constable Muhammad Javed of Sheikh Jana village embraced martyrdom while sub-inspector Muhammad Triq of Bakar village and FC personnel Muhammad Sajjad sustained critical bullet wounds who were shifted to Peshawar for treatment, DPO Javed Iqbal informed.

In retaliation, he said police shot dead a terrorist identified as Anwar Sayed who was wanted to police in cases of terrorism. The police arrested two brothers of the terrorist from the house and also recovered a hand-grenade, one Kalashnikov, two pistols and cartridges. A search operation was conducted after the encounter during which dozens of suspects were taken into custody.
