
Timely Completion Of Development Projects Top Priority Of Govt: CM Bugti

QUETTA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Jul, 2025) Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Monday clarified that incumbent provincial government’s top priority is the timely and quality completion of development projects for facilitating people in respective areas of the province.
He expressed these views while presiding over an important meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on the Implementation of the Public Sector Development Program at the Chief Minister Secretariat here.
The meeting was attended by parliamentary assembly members from Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Pakistan Muslim League (PML), Awami National Party (ANP) and Jamaat-e-Islami (JI),
The progress on the proposed development schemes was reviewed and important decisions were taken to ensure their timely completion in the meeting.
During the meeting, Additional Chief Secretary for Development and Planning Zahid Saleem gave a detailed briefing to the participants on the comparison of the previous Public Sector Development Program (PSDP), the nature of the current PSDP schemes, availability of funds and speed of implementation.
While addressing at the meeting, the Chief Minister said that all such schemes that have been provided with full funding of up to Rs. 650 million must be completed by February 2026, any delay in this regard would be intolerable.
He said that the planning of the budget for the next financial year and consultation on development priorities would be completed before March 2026, so that a coherent and effective PSDPs could be formulated whose fruits reach the common man.
He said that PC-I of all future development schemes should be prepared only on the basis of full estimated cost, phase-wise or unclear estimates would not be accepted under any circumstances as it increases the chances of mismanagement, delay and corruption.
The Chief Minister pointed out that realistic and necessary projects should be given priority in the light of available resources, so that their speedy implementation is possible,
He said that "transparency, speed and quality" are the three basic pillars of the development process and he would not be compromised on at any level.
He said that the consultation and suggestions of the elected public representatives are not only being made a part of the development priorities but their involvement would also increase transparency and public trust.
The suggestions of the parliamentarians provide guidance to the government and through them a better reflection of the public aspirations comes out, he said.
The Chief Minister clarified that timely completion of every scheme is a means of restoring public trust, review and monitoring of the speed of implementation of all important projects, the government would do it itself.
He said that corruption, mismanagement or misuse of resources would not be tolerated under any circumstances saying that the development of Balochistan is a collective responsibility for which political harmony, institutional cooperation and administrative seriousness are indispensable.
He said that to achieve sustainable development, the government is moving forward with a transparent, effective and workable strategy in collaboration with all stakeholders.
Mir Sarfraz reiterated the commitment that the current government would not only ensure wide-ranging consultations at every stage of planning but also introduce a complete monitoring and accountability system in implementation so that the real goal of public welfare could be achieved.
