
Independence Day And Ma'araka-e-Haq Preparations Underway, DC Chairs Review Meeting

HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Jul, 2025) A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad Zain-ul-Abideen Memon to finalize preparations for Independence Day and the "Ma'araka-e-Haq" celebrations.
The meeting was attended by assistant commissioners of all four talukas, the municipal commissioner, officials of district police, HESCO, DHO, representatives of local colleges and schools, members of the Hyderabad business community and officers from other relevant departments.
During the session, representatives of various departments gave detailed briefings on the planned events under the themes of Independence Day and Ma'araka-e-Haq.
Addressing the meeting, DC Zain-ul-Abideen Memon stated that following special instructions of Sindh chief minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, a comprehensive plan had been devised to celebrate this year’s Independence Day in a historic manner, and from August 1 to August 14, the city will host various events involving the public, students, the business community and institutions.
He added that from August 1 to 3, universities, colleges and schools will organize seminars, speech competitions and rallies. August 4 will be observed as Martyrs’ Day “Youm-e-Shuhada”, while August 5 will mark Kashmir Exploitation Day (Youm-e-Istihsaal e Kashmir), featuring a major rally at 11 a.m. organized by district administration to condemn Indian illegal occupation of Kashmir. Special video messages will be shared via social media to raise awareness.
DC further said that on August 6, a scouts’ rally was scheduled, while on August 12, a family festival would be held at Rani Bagh. A grand fireworks display was planned at the same venue on August 13, with active participation from the public and key stakeholders, he added.
Memon directed that the city be decorated with national flags, lights and buntings, and that all public and semi-government buildings be illuminated. He emphasized that cleanliness and sanitation should be maintained throughout the celebration period, with all departments fulfilling their responsibilities promptly.
The culture department has been directed to adorn historical and heritage sites such as Pakka Qila, Mukhi House, Basant Hall and the Sindh Museum in national colors.
Additionally, the DC mandated that national flags be displayed on all government vehicles and encouraged private institutions to celebrate Independence Day with equal enthusiasm. He also called on the Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce, business leaders and the corporate sector to actively support and participate in the planned events including those on Youm-e-Shuhada and Youm-e-Istihsaal.
DC said that to streamline coordination, a WhatsApp group was being created where all departments can share updates and event schedules with ADC-II, so that Independence Day 2025 was commemorated with patriotic spirit and unity.
