Woman Burned To Death In Sultanpur, Police Launch Investigation

HAVELIAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th May, 2026) A woman died after suffering severe burn injuries in a tragic incident reported within the jurisdiction of POF Police Station Havelian, police said on Friday.

According to police officials, soon after receiving information about the incident, DSP Havelian and SHO POF Police, along with a heavy police contingent, rushed to the scene and collected evidence. The body was later shifted to hospital for medico-legal formalities and postmortem examination.

Police officials said two bottles of petrol were recovered from the scene. Family members of the deceased initially termed the incident a case of suicide.

However, police stated that investigations were underway from all angles to ascertain the actual facts.

Abbottabad Police said the case was being investigated strictly on merit and no conclusions would be drawn without completion of legal and forensic procedures. Officials added that medical reports and other evidence were being awaited, after which further legal action would be taken in accordance with the law.

Police also appealed to citizens and social media users to avoid spreading unverified or misleading information and to act responsibly until the investigation is completed.
